Warranty Process for Draught Beer Equipment

UBC Group offers three options for addressing warranty claims for draught beer equipment:

1. Service by Dealer/Installer:

UBC Group may request the original dealer or installer to resolve the issue. In such cases:

  • UBC Group will reimburse labor costs at the agreed wholesale rate of CAD $80 per hour.
  • All necessary replacement parts will be provided by UBC Group.
  • Repairs involving compressor replacement or refrigeration require a repair estimate approved by UBC Group.

2. Third-Party Service Contractor:

UBC Group may engage a qualified third-party contractor specializing in HVAC, refrigeration, or electrical services to resolve the issue.

  • All repairs and costs must align with UBC Group’s warranty guidelines.
  • Repairs involving compressor replacement or refrigeration require a repair estimate approved by UBC Group.

3. Inspection and Repair by UBC Group:

Customers may send defective equipment to UBC Group for inspection and repair.

  • A return goods number (RGN) will be issued for this purpose.
  • Customers must securely package and ship the equipment following provided guidelines.
  • If the defect falls under warranty, UBC Group will cover shipping costs.

Installation Requirements

Failure to meet the following installation requirements may void the warranty:

  • Dedicated Power Line/Breaker - Equipment must be connected to a dedicated breaker with no other electrical devices on the same line.
  • Ambient Temperature Range - Operate within 60°F-90°F (15°C-32°C). The unit cannot be installed in a walk-in cooler or an area below 50°F (10°C).
  • Adequate Air Circulation - Maintain proper airflow:
    • The air condenser must not be obstructed or covered.
    • No filters are allowed with the unit.

Maintenance Requirements

To maintain warranty coverage, regular maintenance is required:

  • Clean and inspect air condensers to prevent dust and debris buildup.
  • Ensure unobstructed air circulation and place equipment in a well-ventilated area.
  • Check glycol concentration to maintain a propylene glycol mixture as 40% glycol, 60% water.
  • Verify power supply to ensure the refrigeration unit is connected to a dedicated circuit.
  • Maintain a service record, as failure to provide one upon request may void the warranty.

Warranty for Non-Refrigerated Equipment

UBC products are warranted against material and workmanship defects under typical use. Unless otherwise specified, the warranty period for non-refrigerated units is one year from the date of sale.

Exclusions:

UBC Group is not responsible for damage caused by:

  • Mistreatment, neglect, unauthorized service, mishandling, or transportation.
